Dante Quando is David’s stallion…purchased on impulse at the Borculo Elite Foal Auction in the Netherlands in August 2014 when the breeder wouldn’t sell him the mare.

This beautiful stallion is by the German superstar, Dante Weltino.  Dante Weltino’s dam is full-sibling to Olympic dressage horse Riwera de Hus.  At just 9 years of age, Dante Weltino was selected on the Swedish team to compete at the Rio olympics.  Unfortunately injury while in RIo prevented him from competing, but he is now back to his best and competing in international grand prix.

His dam is the three quarter sibling of the top-class mare Fifty-Fifty, the champion of Oldenburg at Rastede in 2010. Great grand dam Schickeria is dam of the Olympic dressage horse and approved stallion Quando-Quando (who also competed at the WEG 2006). His famous Schimbine damline produced the approved stallion Dylano. De Niro, number 1 in the world, appears two times in Dante Quando's pedigree.

Dante Quando remains in Germany where at 3 years old he was licensed (he is approved for both Mecklenburg and Oldenburg) and performance tested (he was the equal winner of the dressage at his performance test).  He won his very first competition at Melle, and went on to be 2nd and 3rd for 3yo stallions at the prestigious Rastede Oldenburg championships.

In 2018 as a 4yo, Dante Quando won his 4yo sport test, and was the second highest scoring 4yo stallion in the whole of Germany for the 4yo test (behind popular Helgstrand stallion Jovian).

Dante Quando went on to win the 4yo stallion class at the prestigious Rastede Oldenburg championships.

He then won the German Bundeschampionate for 4yo stallions!

Dante Quando is in training with Eva Moller, who will prepare him for his 5yo sport test (required so that he retains a permanent breeding licence), and continue to take him through his first years of competition.  We look forward to bringing him to Australia as a 5yo in 2019 as a future top sport horse for one very lucky little girl who "doesn't want a pony but a licensed black oldenburg stallion" from Santa...and he will also be available at stud.

We are incredibly proud of our impulse purchse’s achievements so far and excited to see what the future will hold for him and sport and breeding in Australia :)
